Vincent Calabrese (AHCI)

The creations of this self-taught, iconoclastic watchmaker-philosopher represent provocative challenges to horological traditions. The number, diversity and originality of his creations have earned him international fame as one of the most fertile creative minds in the watch business. Vincent Calabrese is one of the rare watchmakers capable of building movements by hand, and the only one of his peers to have made some of them in 950 platinum. His watch making style, which he refers to as “SPATIALES”, enables him to make unique and personalised movements in any shape or form, such as initials, Latin characters, symbols, countries, etc. His technical feats such as the Flying Tourbillon with classic or regulator display are matched by his aesthetic accomplishments, and his extremely complex creations are surprising both for their pure beauty and for their deceptively simple appearance.

Vincent Calabrese thrives on new challenges and thus, determined not to rest on the laurels of his spatial watch making, decided to create other watches which, despite their more traditional appearance as watches with dials, were to stand out from anything that had been done before. From Attentive observers cannot help being stunned by the multiple facets of Vincent Calabrese. All of his creations feature a mechanism invented and produced by him, and all the exteriors are created without any external input in terms of ideas.
